f-stop Accessories
During my time at F-stop I worked on a wide range of projects that required me to wear many hats: such as design, working with suppliers, and illustration. I directly assisted the head designer with many products, of which a handful have since come to market. All Images Courtesy of f-stop Gear

Element Bags
The Element series of backpacks was a study in bag design. They were concieved as a family of packs that were ergonomic, had a simple and unique look, and had connection points for expansion modules. The series consists of a messenger bag, an around-town bag, and a weekender pack. They each have a quick access pocket on the front, spacious interiors, flaps with rain guards, and straps across the front that allow for MOLLE modules, as well as proprietary components. While these backpacks ultimately have flaws, this experience will influence and guide future softgood designs.

Alessi Mikan Collection
Alessi has a long history of craftsmanship, and through partnering with numerous designers their products have connected with people on an emotional level. The Mikan collection endeavors to follow Alessi’s tradition of hand made products made with the aid of machines. Mikan in Japanese means incomplete. This collection embodies mikan by using the principle of wabi-sabi: the beauty of imperfection. The individual objects are crafted in such a way that they are mass-producible, and yet completely unique from any other. Each half of the collection displays wabi-sabi through a different manner.

Crescent Bench
This form study explores how urban seating could be improved by focusing on having an interesting sculptural design, allowing for socialization, and using sustainable materials. Using a crescent shape for seating areas allows for groups to interact by sitting on the inside, while those seeking solitude will face away from others by sitting on the outside. The Crescent Seat uses glass fiber reinforced concrete, a LEED certified material, and steel rebar. This allows for long use, and complete recyclablity. Ground hugging plants are grown on the arch in an effort to reduce the structure’s manufacturing carbon footprint.
